African wild dogs live in the grasslands of Africa. People also call them "painted dogs" because their fur has many colours — black, brown, yellow and white. Each dog has its own pattern, so no two dogs look exactly the same.
Wild dogs live and hunt together in a big family called a pack. The pack works as a team to catch food, and the whole pack helps to feed the youngest pups. They are very fast runners and can run for a long time without getting tired.
